FRENCH fashion brand Sophie Paris recently launched its second Malaysian catalogue, with yet another collection of latest styles and fashion trends.

The event at its flagship store in PJX HM Shah Tower, here, was attended by more than 100 people, including Sophie Paris members and dealers, eager to get a first-hand look at the new range of handbags and accessories.

"Our new catalogue features 150 exciting products for the Malaysian market. There are more colourful bags for those who like a dash of youthful fun, as well as a new collection of small casual bags and evening bags. All these give a new dimension to our catalogue and offer a greater variety of choices to our fashion-conscious customers," said Geoffrey Bagot, managing director of Sophie Paris Malaysia.

During the launch, Sophie Paris also announced that current top leaders Mohd Azian Md Adnan, Shahrudin Jamaludin and Nurshul Shelawati Mohamad would be jetting off to Jakarta with three others for a visit to the company headquarters and an opportunity to meet Sophie Paris's founder, Bruno Hasson.

"We are heartened by the warm response shown by Malaysians for Sophie Paris, and I am pleased to share that we now have more than 4,000 members since we launched in January this year," said Bagot.

"The response has indeed been greater than expected, with member applications and orders coming from Perlis, Kelantan, Johor and even Sabah, even before we began any promotional efforts in those regions.

"This demand has been even more dramatic after the launch of our mail order service last week."

Sophie Paris is a French fashion company founded in 1995 by Bruno Hasson in Jakarta, Indonesia. It produces and distributes fashion products including clothing, accessories, handbags, shoes and cosmetics. The brand offers authentic French designs and has its very own in-house image consultant, fashion photographer and models at its headquarters in Jakarta.

Sophie Paris has at least 1.5 million active members selling more than 75,000 products a day.

Sophie Paris Malaysia officially opened its doors to the public in January, with a grand launch of the flagship store and the brand's inaugural catalogue line, showcasing a range of French-designed handbags and accessories.

Known as Asia's leading direct-selling fashion brand, Sophie Paris markets and distributes its products through its network of members, and produces a new catalogue every 45 working days.

Since its founding in Jakarta, Sophie Paris has expanded to Morocco, the Philippines, Vietnam and now Malaysia.
